Thank You for Supporting Our Lyme Disease Crusade This Year.

Each year in May, during Lyme Disease Awareness Month, we conduct a number of fundraising activities with proceeds going to the Canadian Lyme Disease Foundation (CanLyme). On behalf of everyone at Magnotta, we'd like to express our sincere thanks to our customers and supporters who participated again this year and helped us match and even slightly exceed the dollars we raised last year for this very worthy cause.

Through our special events, we were able to present a cheque to CanLyme for $52,000. The amount represents funds raised from our Gabe Magnotta Memorial Golf Classic and our Give a Toonie for Lyme campaign at all our stores.

Many thanks, as well, go out to Scotiabank for their generous support as a platinum sponsor for our golf tournament which they've sponsored for five consecutive years.

Meanwhile, our 2010 Lyme Awareness Pendant, 2009 Lyme Awareness Bracelet, 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Special Reserve VQA and newly released 2008 Sauvignon Blanc Special Reserve VQA, which are available all year round, continue to generate donations to CanLyme through your generous support.

All dollars raised will go to help fund the building of Canada's first Lyme disease research and testing facility. There is still much to do in terms of fundraising and getting our government on board but awareness is finally starting to spread and will go a long way in helping Canadians protect themselves against Lyme.
