Territory Manager, Pickering to Napanee area - Full-Time

Key Position Objective:
The Territory Manager will be responsible for account management and business development within the Pickering to Napanee geographic territory area. This will include generating new business as well as growing existing accounts. This position will be responsible for a wide range of products sold through multiple sales channels and will utilize diverse sales techniques and tools to drive revenue.
 
Critical Business Objectives:
 Account Management
 a) Service accounts on a set schedule ranging from weekly to quarterly.
b)Increase sales volumes through increased product distribution, merchandising gains, proper inventory levels and executing promotional programs.
c) Schedule and conduct regular educational samplings with retail and licensee staff.
d) Ensure customer satisfaction.
e) Maintain daily activity log of sales and client visits and submit weekly reporting.
f)  Receive and process orders from accounts.
g) Collect invoices/payment.
New Business Development
a) Generate new business acquiring additional customers through cold calling and effective sales presentations.
b) Meeting and exceeding monthly sales targets on new business accounts.
c)  Promoting Magnotta brands by networking, cold calling and social media.
d) Prepare quarterly business plan in relation to your territory developing sales leads to increase sales and revenue.
 
Event Management
a) Develop and implement licensee promotions on a regular basis to increase sales and promote products.
b) Participate in selected approved trade shows (consumer and trade) within budget and guidelines in conjunction with the Events Department.
c)  Be creative in seeking new opportunities for promoting our brand.
d) Evaluate return on investment from each event for feedback to the management team.
e) Recommend and evaluate future ROI on events.
 
Inventory and Expense Management
 a) Monitor customer inventory levels across all channels. Solicit orders and recommend order quantities to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained at all times.
b) Communicate temporary price reductions, promotions, marketing etc. that will impact sales levels and require additional inventory.
c) Manage samples to maximize sales and decrease costs.
d) Provide accurate and timely sample inventory report on a monthly basis to Director, Sales.
e) Manage your daily expenses within approved budget and guidelines.
f) Submit company credit card receipts monthly as requested. Submit any personal expenses on the proper form within a month of the expense.
g) Maintain travel mileage records.
Health and Safety
a) Adhere to all health and safety work practices, procedures and policies.
b Report incidents immediately to your supervisor.
c) Always ensure personal protective equipment is used according to the work practice performed.
d) Work, drive safely and diligently.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
 
Education Requirements:
 a) Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business Management, or 5+ years of related industry experience.
b) Smart Serve Certification.
 
Experience Requirements:
 a) Minimum of 3 years’ sales experience preferably in liquor/hospitality sector.
b) Knowledge of Liquor Board Regulations, market trends and competition.
c) 1-3 years of proven success meeting and exceeding sales targets in consumer goods environment.
d) Experience and success cold-calling and developing new business.
e) Strong organizational and multi-tasking capabilities.
f)  Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and listening.
g) Sound knowledge of the sales and marketing of wine, beer and spirits.

Technical Competencies:
 a) Intermediate knowledge of full MS Office Suite and proficient with Excel and PowerPoint.
b) Developing presentations and communicating to all client levels.
c)  Strong analytical skills.
 
Working Conditions:
 Carrying and lifting 45-65 pounds.
